The Lemming Ways, playing Quai des Brumes

Get yourself a little greenery in the midst of all this new whiteness. The Concordia Greenhouse is selling indoor plants for between $3–$10 ahead of Christmas — just bring a box/bag to bring ‘em home in. 1455 de Maisonneuve, 13th floor, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.

It’s the first day of Montréal Créative, a collaboration between Massivart, ARTV and a slew of other contributors and sponsors. Over the next few months, they’ll be hooking you up with talks, installations, live painting, salons, workshops and other activities with a bevy of local artists, from ARTV’s studios. The series opens tonight with a show by fashion designer Elissa C-Rossow. ARTV Studio (175 Ste-Catherine W.), 4 p.m.

To kick off the Opera de Montréal’s new show Dead Man Walking, the company and Amnesty International are hosting an event featuring the show’s cast, La dernière heure dans la vie de…, to commemorate the last two Canadian executions. Need a reason to buy beer and beer-related products? The McAuslan sale is as good a reason as any to get some seasonal brews, glasses, mustards and other assorted beer paraphernalia. Sale goes to Dec. 13. Centre St-Ambroise (5080A St-Ambroise), 5–9 p.m.
