New Year’s Eve Party Guide!

30 parties to cap 2012 in style, for your consideration.

Green Velvet, at Telus Theatre

Royal Phoenix’s Royal Ball has firestarting DJs B’UGO and Tizi, who you may know from Gaybash events and Circus Afterhours, respectively, and hosts Sally & Tyler and Val Desjardins. They’ve got a range of drink/bottle specials, plus a free bubbly beverage that’ll land in your hand just ahead of midnight. And the bar offers an alternative to pre-drinking at home: open bar from 9-10 p.m., for $50. 5788 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., $10/$15

The apocalypse scare is over (for now) but monthly soul funk dance party the Goods is bringing out the 4 Horsemen anyway. Resident DJs Andy Williams and Scott C (a birthday boy at midnight) will be joined by Lexis and Kobal for the most bangin’ family affair this side of the Aristocrats. La Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent), 10 p.m., $20

Nathan Burns, EZLV and ROUX Soundsystem will be pushing the sound system at this esoteric, underrated Plateau party spot. Salon Daomé (141 Mont-Royal E.), 10 p.m., $15/$20

SAT’s traditional electro party fills the Satosphère with the Ed Banger beats of Frenchman Busy P and locals Vincent Lemieux, Vosper, Jealous Lovers and VJs Jocool & Liberty. 1201 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., $20/$25/$30 after 11 p.m.

Clear, from the crews at l’Assommoir, Unik Productions, Noctambule and les Maurice, sounds like the place to see NYE fireworks in the Old Port (if hangin’ outdoors isn’t your thing). Witness the spectacle through SCENA’s bay windows while DJs Jeff Fontaine, Lucie Lebel, B.A.G.S. Bender, Alex Gragnani, Steve Candela and Mike McCarthy, VJ Okus Fokus, the Carpe Diem Circus troupe, live musicians and the staff serving open bar take care of the rest. VIP tickets include express queuing, snacks and champagne. 149 de la Commune E., $65 women/$75 men/$115 VIP

Rave on after dark and into light at Stereo’s I’m in the Mood for NYE, where U.K. DJ Nicole Moudaber dominates the decks, alongside Canadian DJ Monitor. 858 Ste-Catherine E., 10 p.m–11 a.m., $50/$65

Hippie rave specialists TechSafari and Psychonaut have organized another immersive, intergalactic all-nighter, Orion 2013: The Mystery of 13 Moons. Psychedelic trance and “goachill” DJs M-Theory, Voyager, Symbolium, Jeff MK Ultra, D-Brain, Akshobhya, Rikum, Adham Shaikh, Neerav, Zen, Mat THC, Samira and Aikido. Théâtre Sans Fil (411 Letourneux), 9:45 p.m., $60/$75

Everyone loves a Neon Productions party, and this year they’re setting up a rager at the Telus Theatre with DJs Green Velvet, Dinamo Azari of Azari & III, Shanie Miotto, Maus, host DL Jones and open bar all night. 1280 St-Denis, 10 p.m., $50/$60/$70

How bout an all-night loft party? A shadowy entity called 64hz can comfortably pack 140 revellers into a downtown location (near a metro) to be revealed online closer to the big day. DJs J-Nis, Monokini San, Dorobo, Sipherdee, Bonus Beats, Tone Selekt, Sinaë and Florian MSK spin techno, house, breaks, garage, funk and drum & bass while VJs Homing and Mikiram. Bonus: “refreshments and fruit baskets will be offered to all the funky dancers.” BYOB, but no glass bottles guys. 10 p.m., $25/$30
