Since men participating in Movember are supposed to start off with a clean-shaven face (no cheating!), the people over at Movember MTL and Burgundy Lion decided to host the Mo Shave-Off. Get your faces ready for a month of scruffiness, boys! Tonight, Thursday, Nov. 1, Burgundy Lion (2496 Notre-Dame W.), 7 p.m., free

The Young Blood party aims to raise money for the cause, and get asses to the dancefloor. Dirty Gold, Montrilla, Grown Folk and Ledisko provide the bass music, house, trap and dub. Saturday, Nov. 3, le Belmont (4483 St-Laurent), 10 p.m., $5

Facial hair connoisseurs should cast an eye on mixed media art exhibit MoustH, featuring the work of Harold Devarennes. Vernissage Nov. 8, on through Nov. 15, Galerie du Plateau (3945 St-Denis), 6 p.m.

What’s more manly than playing hockey with a bunch of dudes with moustaches, then watching UFC? Getting women to play while wearing fake moustaches, of course. Men and women are invited to hit the ice at Dorval’s Evolution Ice, where the Georges St-Pierre vs. Condit UFC 154 will be shown for free. Saturday, Nov. 17,2068 Trans-Canada, Dorval, 5 p.m., $35 per player for ice time and post-game beverage. Ladies are provided with fake ’staches.

Guest DJs, iPod battles, live performances, prizes and more will be on the menu at M for Movember, an event coordinated by M for Montreal and its partners to help support research on prostate cancer and men’s mental health. All profits go to the Movember cause. Saturday, Nov. 17, Club Soda (1225 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., $18 + service fees

Just days before December, Yelp invites Movember participants to strut their full-grown ’staches at Belle Mo/Nice Mo. Tuesday, Nov. 27, Il Motore (179 Jean-Talon W.), 7-9 p.m. (click the link to RSVP)

To close out the month of moustaches, Movember Canada is holding its annual gala to celebrate men’s upper lips. Several prizes are up for grabs, including one for Miss Movember. Tickets are available here. Friday, Nov. 30, the Rialto Theatre (5723 Parc), 8 p.m., $20
