Elisapie launches Travelling Love

It’s the vernissage for Contested Site: Archives and the City, a group exhibit exploring activism and contested space in urban memory. FOFA (1455 de Maisonneuve W., EV-1-715), 7–9 p.m., free

The sixth edition of crust-punk/metal/etc. extravaganza A Varning From Montreal kicks off tonight with Belgrado , Spectres, Bellicose Minds, Complications, Crimson Scarlet, Dekoder and Dead Party. It’s the first night of a three-day run by Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter, who’s performing his first full-length piece, Political Mother, with 10 dancers, presented by Danse Danse. Théâtre Maisonneuve (Place-des-Arts, 175 Ste-Catherine W.), 8 p.m., $48–$62
