RIDM picks for today: tragicomic seniors’ home portrait The Patron Saints (Excentris, 3536 St-Laurent, 6:30 p.m.) and Room 237, a doc on the various far-out interpretations of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining (Excentris, 9 p.m.)

Mixed martial artist, UFC commentator, Fear Factor and The Man Show host and slayingly funny comedian (and extremely busy person, apparently) Joe Rogan is in town with his Bill Hicks-ish outraged incredulity, presented by Just For Laughs. Metropolis (59 Ste-Catherine E.), 8 p.m., $44.50-$48-95, 18+

M for Montreal’s got too many good shows happening simultaneously for us to recommend just one: tonight’s headliners are Suuns, Plants and Animals, Danger, Eight and a Half, Pypy, Bran Van 3000, Socalled, Misstress Barbara, Your Favorite Enemies and the Balconies. See our festival picks here and here, but note that Sun Airway was unfortunately turned back at the border.

There’s a vernissage for local photographer Cindy Boyce — a collection of her shots from various vernissages, shows and other events around town. atelier b. (5758 St-Laurent), 5 p.m., free

Aszure Barton and Artists present a double bill as part of Danse Danse, featuring two new pieces by the Canadian choreographer — Busk and Awáa. Théâtre Maisonneuve, Place-des-Arts (175 Ste-Catherine W.), 8 p.m., $30-$57

Last chance to squeak in a Fringe pitch! The online application period for the 23rd annual St-Ambroise Fringe Festival, running from June 13-23, 2013, closes tonight at 6 p.m.
