Sweet Tooth: sinfully delicious Cacao 70

Around this time last year, we hit the jackpot with Cacao 70, a chocolate wonderland boasting man’s deepest, darkest chocolate desires. Going over their extensive, choco-centric menu is a grown-up task, but don’t you worry — mama’s got your back.

Around this time last year, we hit the jackpot with Cacao 70, a chocolate wonderland boasting man’s deepest, darkest chocolate desires. Going over their extensive, choco-centric menu is a grown-up task, but don’t you worry — mama’s got your back.

While there are many options worthy of stuffing into your face, the one thing you can’t afford to miss is the hot chocolate bar. I’m not talking about a sexy chocolate candy bar that gets your heart racing. I’m talking about a worldwide collection of chocolate from 30 different countries, where your choice is brewed into one of the most luxurious drinks you will ever have in life. From 29.2–100 per cent cocoa, popular picks include 70 per cent Cuba (dark), 55 per cent Belgian (semi) and 40.5 per cent Ghana (milk). My favourite? Dark 71 per cent Ecuador.

Your drink comes in two separate vessels, and it’s your job to make it whole. The large goblet cradling a thick puddle of melted chocolate morsels has to be tempered with the hot chocolate base. The goblet fogs up from the steamy hook-up, so you’ll have to give it a few minutes to cool off. Everything from the collection has a little something special from its native country, but most of you will simply note how insanely rich, smooth and incredibly chocolaty the drink is as it slowly flows inside you. It’s straight-up liquid sin.

And the sinning will cost you $9.25. And, yeah, it’ll taste and feel real good.
