Apparently, there’s an election or something.

Don’t be a jerk, go out and vote (even if you spoil your ballot). Democracy only works when people participate in it, people. Check with Elections Quebec for the location of your polling station, its hours and whether you’re registered to vote. Don’t forget your photo ID!

Québec Solidaire’s celebratory HQ for the night is the Olympia Theatre. 1004 Ste-Catherine E., 7 p.m., free

Catch election night coverage at the cool and cozy Hochelaga café/bar Atomic (3606 Ontario E.), or the lovely (and somewhat less east) Lion d’Or (1676 Ontario E.) or the down-to-earth Divan Orange (4234 St-Laurent), who are starting the party early (4 p.m.).

Montreal Fashion Week launch party, and runway shows for a number of designers, including Anastasia Lomonova, Marie Saint Pierre and Thomas Lim. Launch cocktail party at Arsenal, 2020 William, 3 p.m.

Eman & Massimo do a comedic take-down of the election results. Comedyworks, 1248 Bishop, 8:30 p.m., $5
