Laurence Anyways, screening in Lachine

QPIRG Concordia invites alternative-minded students to Disorientation. Today is day one, feat. an open-house (noon to 6 p.m.), info sessions on the local activism and radical queer scenes (1 p.m./2 p.m.), and a screening of The Hole Story care of Cinema Politica (7 p.m.).

Meanwhile, at McGill, it’s Aboriginal Awareness Week. Today promises an opening ceremony (noon) and presentations by Ryan McMahon (2 p.m.) and Ghislain Picard (6 p.m.).

World Portable Gallery Convention presents an evening of cultural events and exhibits, including a presentation by Alopecia Gallery, a reading by Jacob Wren, Judy Freya Sibayan’s performance art piece “The Museum of Mental Objects” and food from the Feral Trade Café. W WTWO (170 Jean-Talon W.), 6:30–11:30 p.m., free

If you haven’t seen Xavier Dolan’s latest, TIFF-award-winning film Laurence Anyways, it’s screening cheap at Lachine’s weekly Ciné-club, sans sous-titres. Entrepôt (2901 St-Joseph, Lachine), 7:30 p.m., $6
