The Magic of Lanterns

Preview the season in local theatre at the Quebec Drama Federation’s fall 2012 calendar launch. It’s hosted by Dance Animal, with live action by 16 local productions. Centaur Theatre (453 St-François-Xavier), 7 p.m., free

See the Botanical Gardens’ annual Magic of Lanterns spectacle light up the land. In its 20th year, the display of 1,000 decorative lanterns extends from the Chinese garden to the Japanese garden. 4101 Sherbrooke E., $15/$17.75, $11.25/$13.50 students, open till 9 p.m.
